What is an online class?

An online course is a course that uses the power of the Internet to deliver class material to you.  You can access online classes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week over the World Wide Web.  While the content is the same  as an on-campus class, there are no regular class meetings.  All work will be submitted on line via the Internet.  Online classes follow the same calendar and registration process as regular classes.  The main differences between an online class and an on campus class are:

  • You can do your coursework at a time that is most convenient for you.

  • You will access the course information by logging onto the Internet.

  • You will communicate with your instructor via email or other electronic media.

Are online classes easier than traditional classes?

This is a frequent misconception.  Actually, online classes require much more involvement on the part of the student than traditional classes.  In an online class, students can't be passive.  The student has to be constantly involved in the learning process.  Many times, students find that online classes require much more self-discipline than regular classes.

How do I turn in the quizzes, midterm and final?

All exams are taken on line.  All exams are created at random by computer.  No two are alike.  They are graded while you wait with feedback given on each question after grading has taken place.  They are then submitted electronically to the instructor and entered in to the grade book.
